Agentic Engineering Runtime: Autonomous Coding Harness with RTK & MCP
Engineered a high-efficiency development harness integrating Rust-based RTK token compression, structured session memory checkpoints, and specialized MCP servers for automated coding workflows.
The Challenge: Context Window Fatigue and Agent Drift
During prolonged coding tasks, agent context windows fill rapidly with verbose git diffs, directory trees, and compilation logs, resulting in degraded reasoning and exorbitant token costs. This project provides a compression filter written in Rust that compacts shell outputs before LLM ingestion, while persisting architectural decisions in a local session ledger.
Plugin Architecture & Intercept Loops
The harness intercepts standard CLI commands, routes git operations through `rtk git`, and enriches agent queries with contextual documentation from specialized skills without injecting entire codebases into prompts.
Key Engineering Challenges
- Preserving crucial error messages while stripping 70%+ of redundant shell noise.
- Building a rock-solid session checkpointing system with rollback capabilities.
